Having fun with postcards

Each time I look at a piece of batik - I imagine something which I can draw out with my new machine. I have been having such fun doing free motion stitching. My husband calls it seeing 'animals in the clouds'. Here are two sets of cards which will soon be going out for the Art2Mail swap. These are only kernels of an idea that can be expanded. If you have the book Color Fusion - Fiberworks by Laura Heine --- she really develops this idea.

New work

The latest work from this week are two fold. The first one is the cover of a pillow for my sister in Florida. The second is a set of Art2Mail post cards which should be going out soon. The inspiration for the post cards came out of the blue and it looks like they may develop into something larger. Both pieces were done with a lot of free motion work. The pillow top is done with silks and is the first time I have worked with that fabric. I applied fuseable web to the back and hoped it would be easier to handle. Not so. But I did finish it. The back of the pillow has to be attached and the pillow inserted. That should not take long.
